YOUR HELP IS NEEDED!
Thank you for visiting my page.
Although my first Tour de Cure ride in 2007 was simply motivated by the opportunity to meet Greg LeMond and ride a new bike route, the overwhelming generosity of donors and the gratitude of diabetics and their famiies motivated me to make the ride an annual event.
Now it has become personal, as I am on medication for prediabetes and my wife is also prediabetic.
But more importantly, after hearing a young child and her mother describe the dramatic impact that her diabetic Camp Colorado experience (supported by the American Diabetes Association) had on her life , I consider it imperiative to further increase the support of the American Diabetes Association. It is heartbreaking what these children have to endure daily and hourly, but very inspiring what they accomplish. These kids (and also adults) deserve our help!! We must put an end to this devastating disease.
HELP STOP DIABETES: SUPPORT THE AMERICAN DIABETES ASSOCIATION
The National Diabetes Statistical Report of 2017 reporting year 2015 statistics is chilling. 9.4% of our population has diabetes, 33.9% of all adults are prediabetic, and 48.3% of those older than 65 are prediabetic. Diabetes cost the economy $245 billion and was the 7th leading cause of death. And how could one put a statistic on the emotional cost to families and friends. This needs to end!
The American Diabetes Association is striving to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes and to put a stop to this disease. Your help is needed.
