SUPPORT ME AND TEAM RED IN THE TOUR DE CURE!
On March 25, 2018, I will NOT be cycling in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure! Because I am chairing the volunteer Planning Committee organizing the Tour, I doubt I'll have time to actually ride my bike. I hope, however, that you'll support my volunteer efforts with a donation to this very worthy cause, or by signing up for the Tour de Cure yourself. This year for the first time, we are offering the option of a 5K run or walk for those who are not comfortable riding their bikes 10, 25, 50, 63 or 102 miles in a day. No matter whether you ride, walk, run, and/or donate, know that our efforts will help set the pace in the fight against diabetes
Each mile brings us closer to stopping diabetes, an insidious disease that has impacted the lives of many of my loved ones. My mother fought Type 1 Diabetes for 35 years, until it finally won when she was just 56 years old. My nephew Mike died during a diabetic seizure on November 2, 2016, leaving his two teenage children and our whole family heartbroken. My niece Laura Lee struggles to meet the challenges of living with type 1 diabetes every day. Many other family members and dear friends also have diabetes. The funds I raise will be used in the fight to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
No matter how small or large, your generous gift will help improve the lives of the 30 MILLION Americans who suffer from diabetes, in the hope that future generations can live in a world without this disease. Together, we can all make a difference!
Thank you for making a generous contribution to this cause that is so important to me!
If you'd like to ride with me and Team Red, you can sign up by clicking on JOIN MY TEAM above my picture. We welcome riders of all ages and cycling abilities, as well as walkers and runners.
