Welcome to Bob Shaw's Tour de Cure Web Page!
Please Support Me in the 2018 Tour de Cure!
Many of you know that I was hit off my bike by a car on March 30th. Luckily, I wasn't damaged beyond repair, but I am now training for my eighth Tour De Cure. I am also a Type 2 diabetic and I am truly lucky to have been able to maintain my health, train and finish the past seven Tour de Cures.
Many others aren't as lucky and are struggling with insulin dependency (Type 1) or Type 2. There is no cure, but the search continues.
Please Help Me Make a Difference in the fight against diabetes!
I will be cycling 100 miles in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure fundraising event on October 14th.
Please support me with a donation by selecting the "Donate" button.
Our efforts will help set the pace in the fight against diabetes. So let's get in gear and ride to Stop Diabetes!
The money you donate will be used in the fight to prevent (educate) and cure diabetes.
Here are the facts about the prevalence of diabetes
- Total: 25.8 million children and adults in the United States (8.3% of the population) have diabetes.
- Diagnosed: 18.8 million people
- Undiagnosed: 7.0 million people
- Prediabetes: 84 million people (now this is scary!!!)
No matter how large or small, your generous gift will help improve the lives of nearly 26 million Americans who suffer from diabetes in the hope that future generations can live in a world without this disease. Together, we can all make a difference!
Thank you for making a generous contribution to this cause that is so important to me!
