Welcome to My Tour de Cure Web Page!
Support the Tour de Cure!
As some of you already know, I have been an active rider, volunteer and supporter of the American Diabetes Association’s Northern Virginia Tour de Cure for several years. This is an amazing event and I am asking for your support. The Tour brings together close to a thousand cyclists, volunteers and other supporters in an effort to raise money to further the mission of the American Diabetes Association (ADA): to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all those affected by diabetes. This is a fight that is both important and personal for me.
I have great expectations for this year’s Tour and I hope that you can help them achieve their goals in both the number of riders as well as the money brought in through sponsorships and funds raised by the riders.
The first way for you to help is to join me in Reston, VA on Saturday, September 8th to bike in the Tour de Cure and raise funds for the ADA. The Tour is a ride, not a race, and the routes range from 14 miles to 108 miles. So whether you are an occasional rider or an experienced cyclist, there is a route just for you. You can register at www.diabetes.org/novatourdecure. If you are interested in riding, let me know so that I can send you additional information so that you can join my Tour team.
The second way that you can help is to make a direct contribution to support the Tour de Cure and the American Diabetes Association. I am aiming to surpass $4000 raised from my network of colleagues, friends and family members. Your contribution will help the American Diabetes Association provide community-based education programs, protect the rights of people with diabetes and fund critical research for a cure. Use this page to make a secure, 100% tax-deductible, online donation.
If you are not a rider there is another way for you to participate. They are looking for volunteers to help in the days leading up to the event as well as on the day of the event at the start/finish line and with various roles along the course. Shoot me a note (email@example.com) if you are interested in helping out in this way.
Together we can Stop Diabetes!
