As most of you know I have been living with Type 1 diabetes for over 30 years. It has been a difficult road of what seemed full of impassable bridges. It changed my life promised to limit my future and create havoc in the process. I have been lucky to have had optimum medical care a supportive family and amazing friends who have helped me accomplish everything I could have imagined physically and emotionally. Not everyone is so lucky and I am committed to bring awareness and find a cure for this life threatening disease. The American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure is so much more than a cycling event to me. It is an opportunity to show how people with diabetes can change the future and make a positive impact in the lives of those who are affected by the disease.
I am committed to RIDE 108 MILES and raise money in this inspirational event to find a cure for this disease that has touched over 26 MILLION people in the United States alone and promises to affect more each day. Chances are you too know someone who has been affected by diabetes and you already know how important it is to stop this disease. By making a donation on my behalf or by joining my team "BID CICLISTAS" you will be helping the Association provide community-based education programs protect the rights of people with diabetes and fund critical research for a cure. With your help we will fight for a future where a parent doesn't have to hear that their child has diabetes. A future where an adult does not have to face the uncertain times ahead after receiving a diabetes diagnosis. A future where you and I will know that we had a part in making this possible. Please help me in this challenge! I truly appreciate your support. Together we can Stop Diabetes! Thank You Jaime
