Welcome to My Tour de Cure Web Page!
For the past six years, I have proudly participated in the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure cycling event. Last year, with your support, I raised more than $11,000, making me South Carolina’s largest fundraiser. I could not have done it without you. Thank you!
I’ve lived with type 1 diabetes since I was 28 years old, and because of organizations like ADA, I’ve benefitted personally from the many advancements made in the treatment of this disease. In fact, I wear a state-of-the-art insulin pump that not only administers my insulin, but it adjusts the level and rate of insulin given based on reading my blood sugar levels every five minutes.
This year’s event takes place on Saturday, May 19th. I’ve set a very ambitious goal of raising more than $12,000 in the next two weeks for diabetes education and research.
Diabetes is a life-changing disease. It has serious and even deadly consequences, and there is no cure. I made a choice many years ago that I would fight diabetes by living a healthy lifestyle and never allowing this disease to define me.
I’m once again dedicating this ride to my four grandchildren. I absolutely love being a grandfather! I treasure every second I spend with Abby, Michael, Stephen and our latest addition, Anna Terez. I look forward to playing an active role in their lives for many more years. I will keep fighting for them and everyone else affected by this disease.
I sincerely hope that you will join me and help us reach our ultimate goal: to stop diabetes.
Will you help me by matching my personal donation of $250 for Tour de Cure? Any amount, regardless of size, will be truly appreciated.
I’m also seeking corporate support. With a donation of $1,000 or more, I’ll include your company’s logo on my personal Facebook page. I’ll also thank my corporate sponsors on a Facebook post from my Peloton rides. I upload these posts every morning.
Again, I want to thank you for your support. Together, we CAN make a difference!
