Welcome to My Tour de Cure Web Page!
The 2017 Tour de Cure was the best ever . We had 11 teammates and The Troy Riders raised over $9,400 to fight diabetes in our 4th year. WOWSER!! Your contributions are adding up as we've raised more than $33,000 in 4 yrs. of riding over 6 total rides in 4 different states. Charley and Rick Larsen of Birmingham, formed ALMO Friends to ride in Bradenton, FL.
This year we have a new teammate, Josh Klaus, golf professional at Woods Fort Country Club. Josh, a Type 1 diabetic, is hosting Swing de Cure on May 19 to support the Troy Riders. We welcome Josh to our team and hope you will play in or sponsor the May 19 golf scramble.
Kim and I ride because on August 9, 2009 our son Neil was diagnosed with Diabetes in the prime of his life at age 16. The disease left us all helpless yet united us to meet the challenges of this disease together. There was no other choice. Neil was a very determined young man that didn't let diabetes slow him attaining his goals. He was a successful student athlete in high school and college. Now, Neil is a successful business man. Diabetes is with him everyday. With any luck he will be cured of this horrible disease in his lifetime.
If you know someone with diabetes, and would do all that you can to cure them, here is your opportunity. That's what We aredoing....all that we can do. We will ride and create the awareness. You can support the cause with a donation or by joining us for the ride.
Doctors and Researchers continue to work towards a cure. They can't work without $.
Join the cause,
Charley & Troy Riders
