2018 Tour de Cure: San Diego

Northrop Grumman

Welcome back Northrop Grumman Team to Tour de Cure!

This is our 7th year participating at the San Diego Tour de Cure, benefiting the American Diabetes Association.  We are a company-sponsored, top-level team, which mean plenty of perks for participating members.  New for this year, in addition to the usual bike rides, is a 5K Walk or Run.

In addition to the small registration fee, $200 of fund raising will be required to participate in the event on Saturday, April 14th.  Just forward your Tour de Cure page to your friends and relatives for donations.  Everybody knows somebody struggling or suffering from diabetes, so just e-mail or Facebook your friends and you should reach the $200 requirement fairly easily.

The one-day bike ride that starts and ends at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and is usually an out-and-back course along the North Coast as far as Oceanside, then inland along the San Luis Rey Bike Trail, then South along old Hwy 395 to Escondido, and follows the same route back to the start, which means you can ride as far as your legs want to go before turning around.  Many of our co-workers have used this event as a first metric or full-century ride, since the course is relatively flat and well-supported.  There will be locations for rest stops (first one in 5 miles) and Northrop Grumman Connect 1NG usually staffs the rest stop in east Oceanside.

The 5K run or walk is around the iconic Del Mar Race Track track and will be super fun.

We were the #1 team in 2016 and the #2 team in 2017 and I would like to see us reclaim the top-spot again!  So click Join Our Team on the link below and forward this to your friends.

The party after the ride/run is really special as well.  Hope to see you there!
