Our team is making a difference. You can too!
On December 17, 2017 my wife’s nephew, Cory, died suddenly at the young age of 30 from a heart attack. Undiagnosed diabetes was the underlying cause. In 2019, Karin and I formed Team Cory in his memory. In our first year, we were one of the top family and friend teams and raised $8,210. We had 17 team members consisting of 11 riders and 6 walkers. Two members reached Champion Fundraiser status by individually raising over $1,000. Cory loved his tie-dye. Hence, our cycling jerseys and tee shirts for walkers and runners have a very colorful tie-dye theme in his memory.
We are teaming up again in 2020 to change the future and make a positive impact in the lives of those who are affected by diabetes. We are committed to participate together and raise money through this inspirational event not just because over 30 million people in the United States have diabetes, but because so many of us personally know some of them and want to do something about it.
Due to Covid-19 this year’s event is now VIRTUAL, but still being held June 20, 2020. You can ride, run or walk in your own neighborhoods or anywhere else you are! Solo or in socially distant groups in a safe manner. If you can't join our team, please consider supporting us with a donation! Any amount will be greatly appreciated. It's been a difficult year so far, but let's not forget supporting the ADA.
By making a donation or joining our team, you will be helping the American Diabetes Association provide community-based education programs, protect the rights of people with diabetes and fund critical research for a cure.
When we bring together dedicated team members and generous donors, the power we have as a group far outweighs what any of us could do alone.
We are determined to reach our team goal, one person at a time. Let's make a difference together!
Thank you for your continuing participation and donations!
