2020 Tour de Cure: Chicagoland (Going Virtual)

The Notorious A1Cs

• 30.3 million Americans, or 9.4% of the population, have it.
• Every 19 seconds, someone is diagnosed with it.
• Recent estimates project that as many as 1 in 3 American adults will have it by 2050.
• It is the 7th leading cause of death in the United States killing more Americans each year than breast cancer and AIDS combined.

What is “it”? It is Diabetes and it must be stopped.

Diabetes is a condition that impairs the body's ability to process blood glucose, otherwise known as blood sugar. Without ongoing, careful management, diabetes can lead to a buildup of sugars in the blood, which can increase the risk of dangerous complications, including stroke and heart disease. Currently, there is no cure.

The American Diabetes Association is the global authority on diabetes. They support, promote and work with others in the diabetes community to advance knowledge and translate discoveries about diabetes and its complications into practical solutions that make everyday life better for people living with or at risk for diabetes.

Our team, The Notorious A1Cs, is walking in the American Diabetes Association’s 2020 Tour de Cure to Stop Diabetes! By making a donation or joining our team, you will be helping the Association provide community-based education programs, protect the rights of people with diabetes, and fund critical research for a cure.

When we bring together dedicated team members and generous donors, the power we have as a group far outweighs what any of us could do alone. Help us reach our team’s goal by joining the team or making a tax-deductible donation. Everything makes a difference. Let's make a difference together!
