My name is Jeff Dragone, and I'm excited to be the captain of Team Johnson & Johnson - Philadelphia this year. As a Type 1 diabetic myself, I've participated in a number of Tour de Cure events over the years...this will be my first as Team J&J Captain however. This is a cause and event that is quite near-and-dear to my heart, and I really hope to have a large team of riders join me on this year's journey.
Certainly, the COVID-19 situation has changed the ride a bit this year. Instead of riding at Del Val College as a team on June 20th, this year's ride will be completely "virtual." There are definately a few advantages I can think of in terms of the virtual ride however (e.g. choose your own route, ride indoors if you like, start/stop your ride at a time that is convenient for you, etc.) And, since geography isn't a barrier, I'd welcome riders from all areas of the world on the team.
Please consider joining Team J&J Philadelphia this year...it's a great cause, and your efforts will help people impacted by diabetes.
Our team is making a difference. You can too!
Our team is supporting the American Diabetes Association because we want to make a difference. We want to lead. We want to inspire. We want to empower. We want a cure!
We are teaming up now to change the future and make a positive impact in the lives of those who are affected by diabetes. We are committed to participate together and raise money through this inspirational event, not just because over 30 million people in the United States have diabetes, but because so many of us personally know some of them and want to do something about it.
This year, you can ride, run or walk with our team at Tour de Cure! If you can't join our team, support us with a donation!
By making a donation or joining our team, you will be helping the Association provide community-based education programs, protect the rights of people with diabetes and fund critical research for a cure.
When we bring together dedicated team members and generous donors, the power we have as a group far outweighs what any of us could do alone.
We are determined to reach our team goal, one person at a time. Let's make a difference together!
