But you don't have to take our word for it that the New England Classic is a unique Tour de Cure. Let veteran Tour de Cure rider Lew Alexander tell you.
"Since 2012, I have ridden in 26 Tour de Cures at 16 different locations. While each Tour has its own personality, the New England Classic is hands down the most special of these events.
"There are a couple of things that make it special. The number of riders is small and whether it's the 2-day or 7-day, you get to know a lot of riders. Given the number of miles and days involved, it also contributes to spending time with folks and getting to know their stories. The end of day debrief at the gear truck is great fun.
"Probably the biggest thing that makes the NEC special, however, is the volunteers. It's incredible to think that these folks take an entire week out of their lives to support this event. But the fact that they do this every year is amazing. These folks are some of the nicest people I have met throughout my Tour experience and they do everything in their power to make sure the rider gets the most out of the NEC experience."
