Event Highlights

Tour de Cure is more than just a cycling event. It's a life-changing event. A day full of fun and excitement where riders of all levels join forces in the fight to Stop Diabetes® and raise critical funds for diabetes research, education and advocacy in support of the American Diabetes Association.

The Tour is a ride, not a race. Whether you are an occasional rider or an experienced cyclist, there is a route just for you. You can choose to ride 10, 25, 50, 70 or 101 miles!  So take the Ride of Your Life and sign up today!

What An Amazing Day!  Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this event the best one yet!  Every role, most of it behind-the-scenes, was critical to greatly appreciated.  Thank you participants and supporting fundraisers and all of the volunteers who donated their precious time, talents, and resources -- HAM Operators & Bike SAG & SAG support;  bike-saving and rider-charging rest stops;  energizing cheer support;  set-up crew for Saturday & Sunday, clean-up crew (many blessings to these tired souls);  delicious food from Carrabbas & Tijuana Flats, volunteer food from Publix;  our beloved interns, our generous sponsors with fun goodies, our top teams and champion fundraisers; our logistics chairperson, Lee Sisselsky, who planned out new courses receiving rave reviews...and the list goes on and on, but mostly we are grateful for our Red Riders!

Event Photos Are Now Available!

  • Rory and Staci Photography -- via Joe Jacoby -- "Tour de Cure pictures are up at my friend's site. Again, pictures are totally free to download. If you like them, please consider another donation to the Tour de Cure. Also, make sure to check your junk e-mail folder if you don't see the picture after a while. Last year, we initially saw very high web traffic, so please be patient with the site."  Special thanks to Joe Jacoby!

Fundraising Facts:  Did You Know...???Power of Emails
  • Sending Emails - through your Tour Page to your friends, family and co-workers has a bigger impact than you may realize.  Fundraising more than doubles from an average of $128 with no emails sent to $286 by simply sending less than 10 emails.  This increases dramatically to over $1000 raised on average for those who sent over 100 emails!
  • Updating Your Personal Tour Page - makes your goal to fight diabetes more personal to your family and friends.  Your story is more compelling and people will want to share it with others.  Those who did so increased fundraising from an average of $85 to $347 last year!
  • Self-Donating - shows your personal commitment to this cause and sets the ultimate example for those who you are asking to support you.  Again, this more than doubles the average fundraising dollars from $140 raised by those who did not self-donate to $338 by those who did.
