PINDAR VINEYARDS 

All routes Start and End at Pindar Vineyards in Peconic. All of our routes are FLAT, FLAT and FLAT!!! The Tour de Cure takes you through the beautiful East End of Long Island that can only be seen on 2 wheels! The East End is known as Wine Country. By participating in the Tour de Cure you will get to be a part of this INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! Stroll through the minimal traffic roads and enjoy the scenic views. See the beautiful farmlands, woods, breathtaking views of the Long Island Sound and stop and relax at the East End Wineries who graciously provide their facilities for our riders to use.
LI Tour de Cure features routes of different lengths for riders of all skill levels. There's something for everyone from a leisurely short distance to a more challenging length. Either way, Tour de Cure is a ride, not a race, so take it at your own speed and enjoy the journey. All Tour de Cure routes are safe and fully supported with route marshals, SAG vehicles, mechanical support, and rest stops stocked with hydration and a variety of snacks to keep you fueled. At the finish, you will be welcomed with cheering volunteers, great food and more. Start the morning off with some fresh coffee, bagels, pastries, eggs, pancakes and french toast.
After your ride is over get set for Long Island's BIGGEST AFTER PARTY! That's right- The Long Island Tour de Cure truly has it ALL! Our after party consists of a delicious BBQ Lunch, live Music, Health and Wellness Village, Massages, Kids Zone and so much more!
Tour de Cure is more than just a cycling event. It's a life-changing event. A day full of fun and excitement where riders of all levels join forces in the fight to Stop Diabetes® and raise critical funds for diabetes research, education and advocacy in support of the American Diabetes Association.
The Tour is a ride, not a race. Whether you are an occasional rider or an experienced cyclist, there is a route just for you.
So take the Ride of Your Life and sign up today! Fundraising minimum $150. All children 12 and under will only be required to raise $50 to ride!

· 5 Mile Fun Ride is our family-friendly Fun Ride and is accessible to all ages and fitness levels, this ride is police escorted for the best experience.
· 20 Mile, 40 Mile Ride offers a moderate challenge while being safe and scenic. Frequent rest stops and plenty of SAG patrols make this ride a great choice for the beginner to intermediate cyclist.
· 62 Mile Metric Century Our 62 Mile Metric Century rides through the North Shore of the beautiful East End of Long Island and into Orient State Park.– the perfect choice for the intermediate to advanced cyclist. Full route support ensures a safe ride from start to finish.
· 100 Mile Century Our 100 Mile Century is a true test of endurance riding in which you will ride through the North and South shore of the Beautiful East End. – Best suited for the experienced cyclist. 100 miles on the East End of Long Island’s best roads guarantee an unforgettable experience.
* Outdoor Stationary Spin Don’t have a bike, don’t worry! Enjoy the scenery at Pindar Vineyards while spinning on a stationary bike

Champions To Stop Diabetes

When you ride in Tour de Cure, you take part in something unique. You join the ranks of some of the most passionate people in the country people who care about cycling, health and, above all, finding a cure for diabetes.
If you raise $1,000 or more for a local Tour de Cure you will automatically become a Champion to Stop Diabetes and will receive special recognition on the weekend of the event, along with special perks all year long!
If you raise $2,600, in honor of the 26 million Americans living with diabetes, you will become a Champion on a Mission and will receive the coveted gold Champions jersey.
CHAMPIONS WILL ALSO BE RECEVING A CERTIFICATE TO ENJOY a 3 Day & 2 Night Getaway at a 3 star hotel in one of 14 exciting destinations such as Orlando, Atlantic City, Las Vegas and more. (Recipient is required to pay hotel tax and $50 fully refundable room deposit. Transportation not included. *Terms and conditions apply)

Thousands of people with diabetes participate in Tour as "Red Riders". Red Riders are the reason we ride—they are given a jersey to proudly wear on the day of the event. Beyond the recognition, Red Riders are part of a community that inspires us to ride and raise money to Stop Diabetes. Be sure to choose "Red Rider" when you register!

Thank You Gifts
Tour de Cure participants can earn a variety of exciting thank you gifts including exclusive apparel, popular electronics, and more! They represent our thanks for reaching higher fundraising levels to fund the mission of the American Diabetes Association and the 26 million Americans with diabetes we serve. All registered participants raising the minimum fundraising amount will receive a commemorative Tour de Cure event T-shirt on the day of the local event. Raise $250 or more and you'll earn your choice of thank you gifts!

Team Red

Team Red is for Red Riders (participants with type 1 or type 2 diabetes), their family, friends and anyone else who is looking to join with millions of others who want to Stop Diabetes! Any rider who isn't already on another team can join Team Red.
Being on Team Red means that you will instantly be a part of a community made up of people from all different areas and walks of life. Team Red is a great way to connect with other families supporting a Red Rider and other families that are honoring a loved one with diabetes.
If I don't have diabetes, can I join Team Red? YES! You can join Team Red, which is made up of Red Riders AND those who support Red Riders. This is a team for anyone who doesn't already have a team.

Early Packet Pick-Up
Avoid registration lines and pick up early so the morning of Tour you can show up meet your family and friends and go!
You will receive your rider number and jersey (if available)
Saturday June 1st 10AM – 3PM (LI ADA Office)
Monday June 3rd and Tuesday June 4th : 9AM – 8PM (LI ADA Office)

If you want your NAME on your BIB # your minimum fundraising amount of $150 must be in by May 15th

FOR ALL JERSEYS the minimum for the jersey you would like to receive also must be in by MAY 15th to receive on the DAY OF EVENT (jersey types below) If your $ comes in after this date, you will receive your jersey after Tour Day.

Each Rider who raises the required $150 will receive an event tee shirt according to the size you registerd with, if you raised $300 you will receive this tee-shirt in a Dri-Fit version and if you raise $500 and above you will receive the above Jerseys.
Each person who raises a minimum of $1,000 is considered a champion and will get a voucher on tour day for a free 3 day - 2 night vacition.

Each team who raises $5,000 by June 1st will receive a private team tent with lots of fun perks!

**ROOM BLOCKS NOW AVALIABILE** FOR JUNE 7th - JUNE 8th at the Hyatt Place Long Island / East End and the Hilton Garden Inn Riverhead while rooms last!!
** both hotels will have a rate of $259 per night. Reservations for the Hyatt must me made 30 days prior to June 7th and reservations for The Hilton Garden Inn must be made no later than 4/26/13. Any questions please email llauro@diabetes.org

Chris Carmichael of Carmichael Training Systems is the honorary chair of the 2013 Tour de Cure. Chris has devoted more than 20 years to helping amateur and professional athletes achieve their performance goals, from improved health to completing a first century. Chris coaches elite athletes, Ironman winners and more, but knows how to apply his techniques to the weekend warriors among us. He wants to help YOU be the best you can be on your bike!
