Congratulations to all of you that participated in the
2013 Tour de Cure!
We couldn't have done it without you!

Together we have raised $370,000 and we are so close to hitting our goal of $400,000! This year we also had over 860 registered riders!
There is still time to help the ADA hit our goal and for you to qualify for the great selection of Thank You Gifts! The post-event fundraising deadline to qualify for your Thank You Gift is July 1st (CREDIT CARDS WILL BE CHARGED ON JULY 2ND).

We also have one final fundraising contest for you! For every $50 you raise online post-event between today and Sunday June 30th, you will be entered into a drawing to win 4 Club level tickets with Parking pass to the EAGLES Home Opener on 9/15 versus San Diego Chargers.. Just think...if all of us raised just $50 more that would equal more than $43,000 for the cause!

Champions To Stop Diabetes
 NEW IN 2013 - Raise $1,000 or more and enjoy a special VIP Party the night before the event! More information to follow.
If you raise $1,000 or more for a local Tour de Cure you will automatically become a Champion to Stop Diabetes and will receive special recognition at the event, click CHAMPIONS for more information.

Do you or someone you know have diabetes?
Thousands of people with diabetes participate in Tour as "Red Riders". Red Riders are the reason we ride—they are given a jersey to proudly wear on the day of the event. Beyond the recognition, Red Riders are part of a community that inspires us to ride and raise money to Stop Diabetes. Be sure to choose "Red Rider" when you register!
In order to receive recognition benefits on the day of the event, you must be registered as a Red Rider by May 13th, 2013.

Thank You Gifts
Tour de Cure participants can earn a variety of exciting thank you gifts including exclusive apparel, popular electronics, and more! They represent our thanks for reaching higher fundraising levels to fund the mission of the American Diabetes Association and the 26 million Americans with diabetes we serve. All registered participants raising the minimum fundraising amount will receive a commemorative Tour de Cure event T-shirt on the day of the local event. Raise $250 or more and you'll earn your choice of thank you gifts!

We need Volunteer Support!
Volunteering is a
fun way to get involved and meet other people who support the work of the
American Diabetes Association. We are looking for over 200 volunteers to
make sure that our riders get the hydration they want, the direction they need
and the inspiration to reach the finish line. Please fill out the
registration form and send to Lauren Hunter, LHunter@diabetes.org.
Route Marshals NEEDED
We are
looking for individuals who will serve as safety marshals throughout our three
routes. They will support riders with basic mechanical and medical needs
until a SAG vehicle arrives. You will help be the eyes and ears of the route.
SAG Vehicle Drivers NEEDED!
Each
vehicle patrols a section of the route between rest stops, lending
assistance and transportation to injured cyclists, cyclists needing technical
support, etc. Drivers must have a valid driver’s license and a vehicle able to
transport both bikes and passengers.

Team Red
Team Red is for Red Riders (participants with type 1 or type 2 diabetes), their family, friends and anyone else who is looking to join with millions of others who want to Stop Diabetes! Any rider who isn't already on another team can join Team Red.
Being on Team Red means that you will instantly be a part of a community made up of people from all different areas and walks of life. Team Red is a great way to connect with other families supporting a Red Rider and other families that are honoring a loved one with diabetes.
If I don't have diabetes, can I join Team Red?
YES! You can join Team Red, which is made up of Red Riders AND those who support Red Riders. This is a team for anyone who doesn't already have a team.

MEET OUR 2013 YOUTH AMBASSADOR
My name is Cate Mars. I have Type 1 diabetes and I am just beginning eighth grade. My 19-year-old brother was diagnosed with Type 1 at the age of 4. So, when I was diagnosed at age 6, I was already familiar with all aspects of diabetes management. I have been playing soccer for the last 5 years on a travel team. This past summer, for the first time, I went to ADA's Camp Freedom. It was my first time away from home and I had a blast! I met new friends and even mustered up enough courage to fly across a lake on a zip-line. I truly cannot wait to go back next year, and some day I hope and plan to be a camp counselor. At home, my favorite hobbies are reading and cooking. My family, friends, and I have participated in four Tour-de-Cure bicycling events. I am thrilled to help out for the cause as the new Youth Ambassador!
