Tour de Cure is more than just a cycling event.

It's a life-changing event.

A day full of fun and excitement where riders of all levels join forces in the fight to Stop Diabetes® and raise critical funds for diabetes research, education and advocacy in support of the American Diabetes Association.    The Tour is a ride, not a race. Whether you are an occasional rider or an experienced cyclist, there is a route just for you.  Over 36,000 people in Chattanooga have diabetes. Every 17 seconds someone is diagnosed with Diabetes. Diabetes is the leading cause of lower limb amputations. 79 million people are pre-diabetic. 26 million have Diabetes

    

Information for May 18 Tour

Start times:
         100 & 62 Miles: Reg opens at 6:00am, Ride at 7:00am
          40 Miles: Reg opens at 8:00am, Ride at 9:00am
          25 Miles: Reg opens at 9am, Ride at 10:00am
          10 Miles: Reg opens at 10am, Ride at 11:00am

 

Route Changes & Impt information:

           The 100, 62, 40 & 25 will leave out Reggie White, left on W. 20th, right on Chestnut, left on 26th, Right on Broad and come back in reverse order.  See updated route maps below.

Going out - You will be escorted out in a tight, controlled, neutral group to St. Elmo, once the blue lights ver off you can strech out.

Coming back - return on your own, follow bicycle laws and use common sense.

Early Packet Pick up:

Tuesday, May 14, at Terminal Brewhouse on back patio 6-8pm.  Bring all funds raised - get bib number, event waiver, t shirt andBlue jersey if you have $500 or more.

Friday, May 17 at First Tennessee Pavilion from 4 -6pm.  Hosted by Salsarita's.  Turn in funds raised get bib number, event waiver, t shirt.  If you qualify for a Blue Jersey ($500+) you will be able to order it with your Thank you Gift Certificate after the event.  The cut off to get your Blue Jersey (500+) is Tuesday May 14.

Champions To Stop DiabetesChampions logo WEB 

When you ride in Tour de Cure, you take part in something unique. You join the ranks of some of the most passionate people in the country people who care about cycling, health and, above all, finding a cure for diabetes.

A Champion is a rider who raises $1000 or more.  Champions will receive name recognition at opening ceremonies of each route, dedicated Route markers with Champions name along route, VIP status to VIP party and more to come - stay tuned!

 If you raise $2,600, in honor of the 26 million Americans living with diabetes, you will become a Champion on a Mission and will receive the coveted gold Champions jersey.

Champions to Stop Diabetes is more than a medal or certificate, it is a program designed to raise awareness about Diabetes in the community and to improve the lives of all people affected by this disease.

 

Do you or someone you know have diabetes?

Thousands of people with diabetes participate in Tour as "Red Riders". Red Riders are the reason we ride!  

 

    Red Rider jersey WEB(All Red Riders must raise the $200 minimum to receive the Red Rider jersey)

All Red Riders are given a jersey to proudly wear on the day of the event. in 2013 we have Youth Red Rider jerseys too. 

Beyond the recognition, Red Riders are part of a community that inspires us to ride and raise money to Stop Diabetes. Be sure to choose "Red Rider" when you register! 


ANYONE CAN FUNDRAISE

Whether you're new to this or have already fundraised for charity events, meeting the minimum will be easy with the support we offer. We know you can do it with these easy-to-use strategies.

Once you register, you'll have access to:

  • Your "Tour Center" and personal fundraising webpage: You'll be able to share your story, send out emails to your friends, family, co-workers and contacts, and track your fundraising progress. We even have instructional videos to show you how to use all these tools.
  • Fundraising emails and letters: Use or modify our template donation request emails and letters. We also have thank you e-cards and much, much more!
  • Road tested ideas: You'll be provided proven fundraising strategies, from team rallies to social media outlets, to help you reach your goal.
  • Your Tour de Cure coordinator: We're here to help you every step of the way! Visit your local Tour de Cure site and reach out your Tour de Cure coordinator today to get started.

Team Red is for Red Riders (participants with type 1 or type 2 diabetes), their family, friends and anyone else who is looking to join with millions of others who want to Stop Diabetes! Any rider who isn't already on another team can join Team Red.

Being on Team Red means that you will instantly be a part of a community made up of people from all different areas and walks of life. Team Red is a great way to connect with other families supporting a Red Rider and other families that are honoring a loved one with diabetes.

If I don't have diabetes, can I join Team Red?
YES! You can join Team Red, which is made up of Red Riders AND those who support Red Riders. This is a team for anyone who doesn't already have a team.

March 23 - Get Out Chattanooga Challenge - Volunteers needed!  We need Volunteers to help with Tour Booth, Water Stations, Obsticals and registration.  Call Wendi at 865-524-7868 x 3343 to get signed up.  All Tour Participants will get Tour Vol shirts to wear that day.
