Do you or someone you know have diabetes?

Thousands of people with diabetes participate in Tour as "Red Riders". Red Riders are the reason we ride—they are given a jersey to proudly wear on the day of the event.

Beyond the recognition, Red Riders are part of a community that inspires us to ride and raise money to Stop Diabetes. The purpose of the Red Riders is to support everyone who lives with type 1 or type 2 diabetes and showcase the courage it takes to live every day with this difficult disease.

Red Riders are being supported all year long now and the shout, "GO RED RIDER" is taking the country by storm! Check it outRed Riders who raise the minimum $200 will receive the 2013 Red Rider Jersey.

Tour de Cure is more than just a cycling event. It's a life-changing event. A day full of fun and excitement where riders of all levels join forces in the fight to Stop Diabetes® and raise critical funds for diabetes research, education and advocacy in support of the American Diabetes Association

Tour is a one-day ride, not a race, with routes designed for everyone: occasional riders, families and experienced cyclists. Route Distances range from 10, 20, 35, 62, or 100 miles and every route is supported with rest stops, food to fuel the journey, and fans to cheer on riders. This year, the Chicagoland Tour de Cure is being held at a new location- the Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora, IL

FAQ'S

Can I still ride if I have not registered online? Yes. Our website will stop taking online registrations on Saturday, June 8th. You may come to the "ADA Not Yet Registered" tent with your $30 registration fee on Sunday. You will also need to pay the $200 minimum fundraising requirement at this time (see below).

What if I have not raised the minimum $200 when I check-in on event day? All riders who have not met the fundraising minimum of $200 by Sunday will be asked to provide a credit card number and fill out a commitment form before being permitted to ride.

What if I need non-emergency support or assistance on the route? If you have your cell phone with you and need non-emergency help out on the course, please call 312-835-8062 for assistance. Please dial 911 for medical emergencies.

What if it rains? Please remember, we ride rain or shine so come prepared with the appropriate riding gear (even though we’re hoping for perfect riding conditions!).  Rain will not stop us from our efforts to Stop Diabetes!  In the event of extreme weather (lightening, tornado, etc.) we will make a formal announcement by email, phone and on our website as to whether the event needs to be cancelled or postponed, but it will only be done so for extreme circumstances. Please call 815-834-0675 for the latest weather information. For event day information including weather related announcement, please dial the non-emergency number, 312-835-8062.

Where can I park at Two Brothers? Just follow the signs that will be posted around Two Brothers, but all Tour parking will be in the Metra lot. There will be NO parking fees.

Is breakfast available? Yes, breakfast will available to registered riders beginning at 6:00 am.

Will I get lunch? Your bib includes your lunch ticket. Use your ticket to redeem for a boxed lunch & soft drink. Two Brothers will also provide one free drink for riders 21 and over.

How can I receive a jersey? Riders can earn a jersey by raising at least $500 or more. Mens and womens sizes are available. Any registered Red Riders who raises at least $200 will receive a Red Rider jersey.

Can I bring money to the event? Yes, riders may bring cash or checks to the ADA solutions tent on event day. Money will also be accepted online and in check form through July 9th 2013.

Please send any checks or Offline Donations to:
American Diabetes Association
Attn: Chicagoland Tour de Cure
55 E Monroe, Suite 3420
Chicago, IL 60603

*Checks should be made payable to the American Diabetes Association.

How do I enter an offline donation to my personal fundraising page? Login to your Tour Center and click the Progress tab. On the right you’ll see a blue hyperlink that says Enter Checks/Cash.

EVERY rider must sign Emergency & Event Waiver formsDownload and print the form here, or we will have extra waivers at the registration area, but this slows down your check in time.

All riders must wear a helmet in order to ride.
