Take the Ride of Your Life!

Tour de Cure is more than just a cycling event. It's a life-changing event. A day full of fun and excitement where riders of all levels join forces in the fight to Stop Diabetes® and raise critical funds for diabetes research, education and advocacy in support of the American Diabetes Association.

Tour is a one-day ride, not a race, with routes designed for everyone: occasional riders, families and experienced cyclists. Route Distances range from 10, 20, 35, 62, or 100 miles and every route is supported with rest stops, food to fuel the journey, and fans to cheer on riders. This year, the Chicagoland Tour de Cure is being held at a new location- the Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora, IL.

Each rider is required to fundraise at least $200 to ride, and by raising the minimum $200 you will receive the following benefits:

  • A Tour de Cure event t-shirt.
  • An official 2013 Red Rider cycling jersey (if you qualify as a Red Rider).
  • Fully supported Rest Stops and SAG support throughout each route.
  • Breakfast, Lunch and an array of food and beverages at each Rest Stop.
  • Improved long-distance routes and beautiful IL Prairie Path Routes.
  • Kids Activities at the post-ride festival.
  • Admission to the post-ride festival, including a beverage ticket (ages 21 and over) and live entertainment, held at Two Brothers Roundhouse.
  • Access to an online Tour Center, complete with Fundraising Tools for iphone, android and facebook, training tips, and pre-written easy to use email templates.

Your fundraising and donations will help fund research to prevent, cure and manage diabetes; deliver services to hundreds of communities; provide objective and credible information; and give voice to those denied their rights because of diabetes. View our "Your Dollars at Work" page to learn more.

Do you or someone you know have diabetes?

Thousands of people with diabetes participate in Tour as "Red Riders". Red Riders are the reason we ride—they are given a jersey to proudly wear on the day of the event.

Beyond the recognition, Red Riders are part of a community that inspires us to ride and raise money to Stop Diabetes. The purpose of the Red Riders is to support everyone who lives with type 1 or type 2 diabetes and showcase the courage it takes to live every day with this difficult disease.

Red Riders are being supported all year long now and the shout, "GO RED RIDER" is taking the country by storm! Check it out!

Be sure to choose "Red Rider" when you register! * Red Riders who raise the minimum $200 will receive the 2013 Red Rider Jersey.

Local News & Events

Roundhouse overhead

The 2012 Tour de Cure Season was our best event yet and a huge success, which provided a bit of a problem - we ran out of room! Our home at Wheaton Warrenville South HS brought us from 300 riders to over 1,000, which meant it was time to go big in 2013. That's why we're excited to announce that the 2013 Chicagoland Tour de Cure will be held at Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora, IL!

Register today and join us for:

  • Better long-distance routes -Being further west gives our 62 and 100 mile cyclists slightly different routes with a new rest stop or two. Expect wide open, beautiful routes for your day of cycling in 2013!
  • Varying IL Prairie Path routes! -The 10 and 15 mile routes will be greatly improved and will follow the Fox River north on all-paved bike trails with great views of the river! The 35 mile route will be the same except for the Start and Finish point.
  • Improved Festival Area -Two Brothers Roundhouse is a huge facility with several bars, dining areas and a large courtyard, exclusively for Tour de Cure all day! This means better amenities like indoor bathrooms and shelter from extreme weather.
  • Two Brothers entertainment, beverages and food - Need we say more?
  • Kids Activities - We haven't forgotten about the kids!  Expect special areas specifically for our younger crowd to keep them entertained throughout the afternoon.
