Do you or someone you know have diabetes?
Thousands of people with diabetes participate in Tour as "Red Riders". Red Riders are the reason we ride—they are given a jersey to proudly wear on the day of the event. Beyond the recognition, Red Riders are part of a community that inspires us to ride and raise money to Stop Diabetes. Be sure to choose "Red Rider" when you register!

Why we
need to pay attention to diabetes.
Diabetes is the sixth leading cause
of death in the United States accounting for more than 75,000 deaths a year.
According to the CDC, the direct and indirect costs of diabetes total $174
billion a year.
- Every
17 seconds a person is diagnosed with Diabetes.
- Kills
more Americans than Breast Cancer & AIDS combined
- If we
don't Stop Diabetes 1 in 3 adults will have Diabetes by 2050
- Minority
children estimates predict 1 in 2 / 50% will develop Diabetes
- Diabetes
consumes 25% of Medicare's annual budget
- One
out of every four health care dollars is spent caring for someone with
diabetes
In
Central Texas:
Texas as whole ranks 4th in the
Nation with a 10.30% average with diabetes. Locally, we are at 7% average.
