Welcome to Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes-Philadelphia, Presented by Independence Blue Cross Walk!

At this inspirational event, participants are committed to walk and raise money for the mission of the American Diabetes Association to stop diabetes® and improve the lives of the 26 million Americans who are living everyday with this disease.

Did you know that right here in Philadelphia 9% of our population is living with diabetes?  This is 3% higher than the national average.  Do your part now by registering and joining the 5,000+ participants who walk annually in the fight to stop diabetes®!

Once you register, you'll be given your very own web page and with access to lots of tools to help you fundraise.

You'll be able to customize your personal web page with your reason for walking. 
Send emails to ask others to join you or to make a donation, using the already populated email templates. 
Follow our Facebook updates to learn how easy it is to fundraise and to see what others in our community are doing.

And of course, your Step Out Specialists (ADA Staff: Liz and Erin) will be here to help along the way!

Stop Diabetes and Win!

The highest online fundraiser between May 20th and May 31st will win a Family Fun Day Package!

This package includes four tickets to the New Jersey Adventure Aquarium anda Gift Certificate to Iron Hill Brewery.

It can be quick and easy to fundraise online. Take our suggestions.

• Log in to your Step Out Center..
• Select Send Emails on the right.
• Select Use A Template, and choose the one that's best for you.
• Copy email contacts into the To: section and press send.
• Thank your donors publicly (on Facebook, Twitter, etc.), recognizing their contribution and encouraging others to donate for the same recognition.
• Make a Self Donation to the cause. Show your commitment to your fundraising goal and to Stop Diabetes.
  
• Don't hesitate to ask for donations on Facebook, providing a link to your Step Out Center. Let your online contacts know you're raising funds to Stop Diabetes and invite their support.
  
• Keep your contacts updated on where you stand with your goal or your next milestone in fundraising, and ask for their support to reach your goal.
