In Central Massachusetts we Step Out to do our part to Stop Diabetes! Join us on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the UMass Medical School campus to walk either 1 mile or 3.5 miles for diabetes. After the walk we will visit exhibitors and enjoy music, food, and festivities. We walk rain or shine in support of the 25.8 million children and adults in the U.S. (557,000 in Massachusetts alone!) with diabetes. Your fundraising efforts will help sustain critical research, programs and advocacy efforts of the American Diabetes Association for all types of diabetes.
Step Out participants are committed to walk and raise money in this inspirational event not because 26 million people in the United States have diabetes, but because they walk among us in our lives and at the event.
Once you register, you'll be given your very own web page and will have access to a variety of tools in your Step Out Center to help you fundraise. You'll be able to customize a page with your reason for walking, send emails asking others to join you or donate, and even download Facebook and smart phone apps. And of course, your Step Out Specialists (ADA staff) will be here to help all along the way!
