24 hour challenge to hike the highest mountain's in NY-VT-NH

With the help and support from family, friends and co-workers, I have organized a hike to help raise money for the American Diabetes Association in a way that is both a physical and philanthropic challenge. The Hike to Help Stop Diabetes involves two very difficult but not impossible goals.

Goal 1- Help raise $10,000 on behalf of the ADA

Goal 2-
The goal will be to reach the summit of each of the three state's highest mountains and finish within 24 hours. This undertaking has never been attempted before and will consist of 30 miles of hiking and a total elevation gain of 9,275 feet of climbing.

Logistics:
ĚStart at midnight on Saturday June 25th and hike up and down the tallest peak in New York, Mount Marcy at 5,343 feet

ĚDrive directly to VT and hike up and down Mt. Mansfield the highest mountain in the state at 4,395 feet

ĚThen drive to NH and summit Mt. Washington, which is the highest peak in the Northeastern United States at 6,288 feet then hike down and return to the car by midnight 6/26

The reason for choosing the American Diabetes Association:
It may surprise you that 25.8 million children and adults in the United States—8.3 % of the population—have diabetes. The American Diabetes Association's programs support our family, friends and neighbors living with the disease, which is often a struggle. With devastating complications such as blindness, amputation, heart disease and kidney failure, diabetes is serious -- even deadly.

By making a donation to the ADA, you are helping to fund leading-edge research that affects the health and well being of millions of people living with diabetes. Your funds are put to work immediately to support important research efforts and help provide much needed services to people with diabetes.

Thank you for helping us raise funds that will help the American Diabetes Association to advance diabetes research, information and advocacy.
