History

Rip's B.A.D. Ride— Bikers Against Diabetes —are Biker fundraising rides that unite the Biker Nation in the fight to Stop Diabetes.

Rip Rose, a biker photojournalist for Easyrider, had a dream of the Biker Nation rallying in the fight to STOP Diabetes and its deadly consequences. Rip enlisted the support of the Davidson Family, motorcycle industry leaders and bikers touched by diabetes.

The Ride began in Southern California in 1997 with three hundred riders converging into Glen Helen Pavilion from a few start sites in Southern California. Last year, many riders from various different start sites across Southern California and Arizona converged together several times during the year to help raise the much needed funds to help in the fight to STOP Diabetes.

Rip passed away in 2000. His legacy lives on each year as Rip's B.A.D. Ride unites the biker communities in California and Arizona to continue the fight to prevent and cure diabetes and improve the lives of those affected by diabetes.
